It was a fun-filled weekend for the Little Warriors and Junior Champions from FaMA - Fitness and Martial Arts as they were able to test themselves in the first kids-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) competition in Singapore sanctioned by the Asian Sport Jiu Jitsu Federation (ASJJF).

Hosted by Grapple Asia, the event was held at City Square Mall and attracted hundreds of competitors. Alongside them were coaches, parents, and spectators who were there to support the participants.

According to Grapple Asia, the Little Warriors Roll-A-Thon is the only ASJJF sanctioned event in Singapore and a prelude to an exciting Kids Jiu-Jitsu circuit next year.

“The Little Warriors Roll-A-Thon is designed to promote the spirit of healthy competition and personal growth among the young ones. We envision a world where every child has a minimum threshold of Jiu-Jitsu knowledge, paving the way for future generations of mindful and tenacious little warriors,” stated Grapple Asia on their website.

FaMA came home with three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. FaMA's Little Warriors and Junior Champions head coach Professor Robyn Goudy said he was extremely proud of all the competitors and was very pleased with their effort.

“We are very happy with our students. They did really well, executed techniques that we have been working on and were able to showcase their Jiu-Jitsu,” he said.

“Above all, we want our kids to have fun and enjoy Jiu-Jitsu. Competition builds camaraderie among teammates. They get to hang out, compete and get ice cream together after they are done and they will remember these moments as they get older,” Robyn added.
